Boys Varsity Cross Country, Girls Varsity Cross Country · Cross Country Tunes Up for Regions

The cross country teams competed at Baylor yesterday in the Front Runner Championships. The boys team finished 3rd of 32 teams and 237 runners. McCallie was first and Baylor was second. Finishing 7th was Xavier Findley with Mikey VanWinkle finishing 8th. Payt Bussey ran in 16th place. Jackson Hughes finished 35th and Ben Bowman, Preston Buck, and Zach Stambaugh rounded out the top 7 runners. The boys’ average time was 17:47.

The girls’ team finished 9th of 24 teams. Hailey Coudriet led the Panthers with 20:51 finishing 10th of 175 runners while Susan Nelson finished in 23:47. Rebekah Noland and Allie Hale finished 24:15 and 24:16. Ashley Hale, Jacey Wiley, and Erin Rassell rounded out the top 7. The girls’ teams’ average time was 23:44.
The junior varsity boys’ team finished 6th of 17 teams. The junior varsity was led by Matthew Noland finishing in 6th of 190 runners while teammate Jacob Sweeten finished 14th. Seth Sherrill finished 19th. Carter Wiley ran next with Jacob and Jordan Howe.
In the junior varsity race, Anna Kemmer finished 14th of 72 runners. Whitney Miller and Sienna Howe were next.
